Judith's research for her Master's was focussed on variable self-adaptive lenses. Her project included pure research as well as application and product development. In addition, she was involved in field testing of prototypes in Ghana. This provided valuable first-hand experience of the translation of academic research through development and into a marketable product. The insights gained have proved invaluable to her work in intellectual property.
Judith has also spent time researching seed biology, in particular germination behaviour, at Allied Grain (now Frontier Agriculture, the UK's leading crop business). Part of this work was on behalf of the John Innes Research Centre, an international centre of excellence in plant science and microbiology. This has provided an enviable breadth of experience across the physical and life sciences.
Judith joined the patent profession in 2001. She began her career at Abel & Imray training as a patent attorney, before joining K.R.Bryer & Co. in 2007. She co-founded Script IP in 2012.
Judith has detailed knowledge and practical experience of complex post-grant amendment procedures. In addition, Judith has worked on due diligence projects including one which was instrumental to the floating of Phoqus Pharmaceuticals on the London Stock Exchange's alternative investment market (AIM).
Judith also has extensive experience of Community designs (European designs at OHIM), as well as UK designs (at the UKIPO).
Judith's clients have included multinational organisations and large UK companies, as well as SMEs, start-up companies, universities and individual inventors.
Script IP’s style and ethos has allowed them to work directly with our engineers, enabling me to trust them with important tasks on my behalf.
